Love is a Disease. We have the Cure. stolen-rapture.weebly.com
Our world is divided in two. There are those who have the cure, the ones that follow the rules of our country, who respect order and simplicity and allow scientists to remove the part of their brain that creates emotions. And there are those who don't.
It was several generations ago that the National Religion of God and Science was established. Shortly after was the official scientific diagnosis of the disease amor deleria nervosa. Love. It is a sickness, an infection of the mind that, if let unattended, will rot a person from the inside out. Many studies were performed to conclude that deleria could, in fact, be deadly and was a nationwide epidemic in America that had to be swiftly eradicated. And so It was.
The Cure was discovered mostly by trial and error. Apparently there is a certain part of the brain that develops the disease and causes a human to develop strong emotional and inhuman attachments to items or object that starts as the breeding ground for love.
After many years of testing, a safe way of inactivating that part of the brain was developed, without fear of a person completely losing their ability to have emotions or other brain functions. Granted a few side effects remain but the benefits, a disease free world, greatly outnumbered them.
And yet, there are still some people that think love is natural, of all things. That it isn't a disease and people should be left to become infected willingly. We call these people the InValid and they choose to make their living in The Wilds, outside of normal civilizations (where everything is perfectly orderly and controlled) and in a poverty ridden, infected part of the world.
Stolen Rapture was (re)launched in July of 2015. The current website owner is Tatt and the Site follows the lines of a Dystpoian Human RPG. In this world, love is illegal and the members of society are experimented on to find was to completely eradicate the disease.
